First fluid onboard

Finally got round to putting my first fluids onboard. I've added the diff oil through an improvised funnel. If doing this again I'd use some fatter pipe as this was too thin and pretty slow.

It took about 1.4 litres with a little overflow for the drive

Ignition barrel

As I had the ignition, steering column and everything needed to fit it, I did. Again another straight forwards job and the car now has steering and it's keys 😀

Fuel filler cap

I finished off with some easy jobs today, ended up fitting the fuel filler cap on and attaching the number plate light.

Both straight forwards and not look great.

Bonnet and nose cone trial fitted

I couldn't resist trial fitting the nose cone and bonnet - so I did. Looks amazing!!

Rear brakes fitted

Had a really good weekend in on the car this week, got loads of little jobs done and also fitted the rear brakes.

The pads clipped in to the calipers and I put some copper grease on (the backs) to prevent any squeal. The calipers then just attached to the mounts supplied by GBS and that was it. Turns out they can only fit properly on one side which has me confused for a few minutes, but figured it out in the end.

Only problem now is that I can't the handbrake cable onto the handbrake as it is too tight.

Boot is finished

I also got around to filing a thing edge off of my boot base so that now fits perfectly and is ready to be screwed in place.

Some carpets and the rear panel and it will start looking like I know what I'm doing.

Lots of tightening nuts

Finally bought a paint marker so torqued up all of the nuts and bolts on the rear of the car ready for the next stages. Also marked them all so I know they are tight and haven't moved during use.

I then tightened the rear hubs so they are now in place and ready for the brakes.

Took a good few hours to do all this and was pretty boring and repetitive but needed doing.
